AI trading apps compared · by Capacitr

The best AI trading app depends on who you want pulling the trigger

Some AI trading apps only research. Some draft a trade and wait. Some trade on their own. We compared six apps, including our own, on the questions that decide which one fits you: who places the trade, who holds the money, which markets it reaches and what it costs.

Free on iOS 16.4+, Android and the web. Not financial advice. Trading involves risk of loss.

Six questions to ask any AI trading app

  • Can it trade without you?Catalyst and Autopilot can act automatically. Capacitr and Button wait for your confirmation. Supertake asks first unless you switch on Autopilot.
  • Who holds the money?Your broker, a self-custodial wallet, or the app itself. Each carries different protections.
  • Is it regulated, and by whom?A FINRA broker or an SEC-registered adviser is a different promise from an app that says it is neither.
  • Is it available where you live?Several venues block the US, UK or other countries. Check before you deposit.
  • Does it show its sources? An AI idea without a source is hard to check. Look for links to the post, filing or article.
  • Does it promise returns? No model removes market risk. Treat guaranteed-profit claims as a red flag.

About our app

How Capacitr works

Capacitr is our app. Here is how it works, so you can hold it to the same checklist. Based on its App Store listing and support page.

Self-custodial

Capacitr is not an exchange, does not hold your funds and is never the counterparty to your trades. You approve a trading key for your own wallet, and every fill links to the venue’s explorer.

Asks before it signs

The assistant can suggest a trade and fill in the ticket. Nothing is placed until you confirm, and Capacitr tells you what is sent to its AI providers before your first question.

Check availability before you deposit. Hyperliquid is not available in the US or Canada. New Polymarket positions are not available in the US, the UK and other restricted countries. Robinhood Chain is available in the EU/EEA only.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the best AI trading app?

It depends on how much control you want to keep. For trading news-driven moves with a confirmation on every trade, Capacitr fits. For automated crypto strategies, Catalyst. For a regulated broker with options and futures, tastytrade. For hands-off copy investing in US stocks, Autopilot. For turning a thesis into a stock portfolio, Supertake. Capacitr publishes this guide.

Which AI trading apps trade automatically?

Per their own documentation, Catalyst agents can trade under delegated permissions with per-trade approval optional, Autopilot mirrors trades automatically, and Supertake has an optional Autopilot mode. Capacitr and Button wait for you to confirm.

Which AI trading apps are regulated?

tastytrade is a registered broker-dealer and FINRA, NFA and SIPC member. Autopilot’s advice comes from an SEC-registered investment adviser. Supertake and Catalyst state they are not registered advisers. Capacitr is not an exchange and routes to third-party venues.

Is an AI trading app safe?

Safety depends on custody, regulation and whether trades need your approval. No app removes market risk, and leveraged products can lose your full deposit.

Is this comparison independent?

No. It is published by Capacitr, Inc., which makes one of the apps listed. Facts about other apps come from their own public pages, linked below.
